Summer Goals: learn to swim ✅ Audrie started this spring with 0 swim experience. We started with floating, bubbles, and basic kicking drills to build up a foundation just to have enough wherewithal to survival swim. Now she’s confidently mastered freestyle. It’s beautiful to see Audrie zoom across the pool at nearly twice the speed as her first ever attempt. Talk about impressive. Four training sessions ago, Tyler completed his first 500 Breastroke. Two training sessions ago, he smoked the US Navy Cadet PT Test for a 500 Breastroke by over a minute. Last night, Tyler passed that test wearing full PT gear. This young man was dedicated to his craft and vastly improved his stroke mechanics. He always gave his best effort during the sessions and became a strong swimmer as a result. Tyler is elite. This young man set summer goals to pass the US Navy swim test and become scuba certified. When we started class, he could make it across the pool, but with poor form which zapped his strength. After developing his stroke mechanics through freestyle drills and technique work, he breathes properly and his efficiency has skyrocketed. Now he is able to use his full strength as he propels himself through the water. It’s only April and he is knocking on the door of both goals.
